About Beth

With over 10 years of political and public sector experience, I help civil servants, rising public leaders, political candidates, and social-conscious executives clarify their values, identify their strengths, build their personal narratives, and develop strategies to have greater impact on the causes they care about and cultivate a fulfilling, meaningful career.

As a coach, I have worked with leaders and rising leaders in a variety of US non-profits, state legislatures, city councils, and federal departments. Outside of the US, I have worked with social activists, public servants, and NGO leaders in 26 countries, including the UK, Spain, Indonesia, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Nigeria to develop their personal leadership capacity and advise them as they tackle real-world social challenges in their communities.

My passion for coaching public leaders stems from my own experience in politics. I was first elected to public office when I was 28 years old. While in office, I became the youngest woman in the United States to lead a major party in a State Legislature, the subject of an award-winning documentary, and one of Apolitical’s 100 of the “The World’s Most Influential Young People in Government.”

My leadership journey was messy yet exhilarating with sharp turns, sudden rises, and rapid falls. I jumped headfirst into politics and learned to lead on the job, which often left me exhausted and disoriented. When I left politics in 2018, I knew I wanted to focus the next phase of my career on making sure other public leaders receive the support and resources they need to stay strong and remain whole as they pursue their own mission-based work.

In 2020, I graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government with Master’s degree in Public Administration with a certificate in Management, Leadership, and Decision Sciences. With my degree and my experience, I have worked to build a coach and consulting practice that helps leaders navigate the practicalities of their roles while fostering values-based leadership, personal growth, and resilience.

My specialties include:

  • Creating authentic narratives & communications
  • Negotiating group conflict
  • Building coalitions
  • Navigating political environments
  • Overcoming performance anxiety
  • Maintaining boundaries
  • Managing change

I love to work with:

  • Current or future political candidates
  • Public workers
  • Government officials
  • Social change activists
  • Non-profit & NGO leaders
  • Mission-oriented organizations & individuals
